The County Auditor is in a real sense the chief accountant or controller of the county. The Auditor is responsible for (among many other things):
Transferring property ownership and keeping the record of owners
Processing and maintaining property tax deductions, exemptions and abatements
Secretary to County Commissioners and County Council
Paying all invoices for the county
Processing payroll for all county employees
