The County Auditor is in a real sense the chief accountant or controller of the county. The Auditor is responsible for (among many other things):

  • Transferring property ownership and keeping the record of owners

  • Processing and maintaining property tax deductions, exemptions and abatements

  • Secretary to County Commissioners and County Council

  • Paying all invoices for the county

  • Processing payroll for all county employees
