The seven member Blackford County Council oversees and administers the county budget. The council approves the annual budget, establishes the salaries for county officials and employees and authorizes spending to certain departments for specific purposes. County Council members serve a four year term. There are no term limits for County Council members.

The County Council meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. on the 1st floor hallway of the courthouse. They have two additional meetings in August for budgets and one additional meeting in December for year end business.
